About Me
My name is Becky, I started Bonnie Animal training in 2025 to continue my calling in life, supporting animals and their humans to experience a harmonious and joyful life together with the help of training and behaviour modification.

I've had a unique career and development journey to grow my expertise and experience!

Dogs:
I started working for Dog's Trust in 2021, as a Senior Coach teaching Puppy Classes, Reactive Classes, and 121 Training Sessions at Dog School, seeing approximately 100 dogs a month, all with different needs and behavioural challenges.

I completed an extensive training and upskilling programme provided by top experts at the Dog's Trust which enabled me to become accredited by the highly respected APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers) and be registered as an Animal Training Instructor with the ABTC (Animal Behaviour & Training Council).

Zoo Animals & Exotics:
Prior to Dog Trust, I already had a professional background in animal training.
I spent 14 years working as a Zoo Keeper. This experience has been a unique and invaluable asset to my career as a trainer.

I trained animals to voluntarily cooperate in their own health care. We did all sorts of ground-breaking things such as training Tigers to present their tails for blood draws, or getting Giraffes to display their toes for filing.
Horses:
Alongside my career, I have had horses all my life.
After discovering Positive Reinforcement training and Cooperative Care in the Zoo industry, I started to apply this method to horses and witnessed a huge change in their behaviour, for the better.
Others at the yard started to call upon me to help with their challenging or nervous horses.

Going on to rehomed a traumatised rescue horse, I grew a support network of other positive equine trainers and went on to achieve huge success rehabilitating Finlay, who I then backed with positive reinforcement, now riding bitless in the Pentland Hills.
Professional Achievments
I am committed to proving a high standard of welfare through my accreditations with highly respected organisations showing my ethical training standards within an unregulated industry.
These Accreditations require me to keep up to date with advances in behaviour research and also continue to develop my knowledge through CPD.
